You can represent your school in the 2009 Pine Rivers Show School Champion Awards (PRSSCA). These awards aim to recognise achievements of students attending school within the Pine Rivers district.

As the representative of your school - you will be required to prepare a Written Statement of approximately 150-250 words (an A4 page), outlining your achievements. 2 photographs will also be required along with your completed Nomination Form.

You will then be required to attend a 10-20 minute interview on Saturday 18th July, 2009 - at the Wyruna Room, Jock Mitchell Building and the Arts& Crafts Hall, Lawnton Showgrounds, Gympie Rd, Lawnton. Interviews will commence at 10am. The Awards Committee, however, will organise a suitable time with you closer to the day.

The Presentation Ceremony of the PRSSCA will take place at the Official Opening of the 2009 Pine Rivers Show - Friday 31st July. We will make mention of each participating school. Also, when the awards are presented to each winning student, we will endeavour to read a few achievements of that student, making clear the name of their school.

All students and schools will receive a certificate, recognising effort. Winners will also receive a certificate and prizes - congratulating achievement. Please read the following details so that you have the best chance of articulating your achievements.

Nomination Process

  1. Complete the Official Nomination (Attached).
  2. Prepare a Written Statement of 150-250 words (1 A4 Page) outlining student achievements.
  3. Send 2 Copies of the Nomination Form and the Written Statement, as well as 2 Clear Photographs of the student to:

NOMINATIONS CLOSE FRIDAY 19th June, 2009

Please note the Final Day for Nominations - Friday 19th June, 2009. 
On the day of Interview Judging, students are permitted to bring Portfolios or Supporting Documentary Evidence of their achievements.  This may assist in student articulation of achievements.

Conditions of Entry

  1. Entry in the Pine Rivers Show School Champion Awards is free.
  2. Nominees should attend a School in Pine Rivers.
  3. Nominees who reside outside the Pine Rivers district but attend School within Pine Rivers district are still eligible to enter.
  4. Nominations may only be made on the official form or its facsimile. An original and one complete copy should be sent with the nomination, with two photos.
  5. It is permissible to contact the Coordinator or Show Secretary for guidance regarding compilation of nomination submissions.
  6. All nomination information and material submitted remains the property of the Pine Rivers Show School Champion Awards office.
  7. Nominees agree to make themselves available without cost for publicity purposes as required prior to, and after the Awards.
  8. Nominees agree to allow the use of their Nomination information for publicity purposes.
  9. Nominees should be available for a short interview on Saturday 12th July, 2008. The Pine Rivers Awards Office will contact the student (or the school) to arrange a suitable interview time.
  10. Nominees will be required to attend the presentation ceremony during the 105th Pine Rivers Show - on Friday 31st July, 2009. 1 Free Adult and Student Show Pass will be distributed to each nominee (for Friday 31st July) on the Interview day.
  11. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12.  Nominations close - Friday 19th June, 2009
